Hello everyone and welcome to another vicious Guitar Duel! This week looks to be another tasty affair, but I don't think its going to get as many votes as last weeks Guitar Election between Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton. I really didn't expect last week to get so many votes, and what's more, I didn't expect the result that entailed. The result of last weeks Guitar Duel was an resounding win for Jeff Beck with 82 votes to Clapton's 28. But now onto this weeks Guitar Duel. Two more recent guitarists than some of the previous duels, this week see's[...]
Hello everybody and welcome to another juicy Guitar Duel! This is a regular feature where I put two guitarists against each other and let the readers decide who is the better guitarist. Last time's Guitar Duel saw Mark Knopfler take on Brian May in a hard fought battle which Knoplfer first looked like he would win. However, a few days later and May took the lead, resulting in a 10-8 win for May. Thanks for all who voted on this one. Now onto another exciting Duel. This week see's two of the most notable guitarists in the rock world and more[...]
Hello and welcome to another Hero worship post. This weeks legend is an amazing guitarist with a great fingerpicking style. He has played with Ricky Nelson, Gram Parsons, Merle Haggard and Many more. But by far his most famous work was with the King Elvis Presley. This weeks legendary guitarist is, of course James Burton. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001 and was placed at 20th in Rolling Stone Magazines 100 Greatest Guitarists of all time.
What Total Guitar Said:
You Know Him By His: Pink Paisley Tele and[...]
Hello everyone and welcome back to Hero Worship, after I missed one last week, oops. This weeks hero comes from an English punk band from the 70's, and one which probably started it all. A guitarist that I think is often overlooked in the guitar industry. The band that kicked off the Punk controversy? Obviously its The Sex Pistols. And the guitarist? The influential Steve Jones.
He may not have been the best guitarist ever, but he sure was inspirational. He shown people that they didn't need to be a Hendrix to sound good. Pretty Vacant, God[...]
Well harrow everybody and welcome to another edition of that favourite Guitar Duel! This is a feature on the blog where I put two of the worlds best guitarists and make them fight to the death. Well, not literally, but they have to fight for the readers votes. It's kinda the same. Anyway last weeks duel of White Vs Bellamy did not result in a winner as you lot couldn't decide between them. This weeks duel comes from two of the finest British guitarists ever. Between them they have sold over 400 million albums worldwide and have been in two of[...]
