Guitar Round-up

Share My Guitar

  • So you think you can rock world music? – A clever look at the genre that is ‘World Music’. It details that as westerners we categorise anything that doesn’t fit into our culture of music, to be classed as world music, when in fact, there are a wide range of genre’s that are covered. This looks set to be an ongoing feature where the writer will show us different artists and genre’s from around the world. This weeks artist is Fela.
  • SMG Poll: Who’s the best Shred/Rock Guitarist? – A weekly poll from share my guitar. This week they look at who the best Shredder or rock guitarist is.

Truefire

  • Truefire Toons – Every week the people at truefire come up with a funny little guitar-related cartoon to keep their readers entertained. Here’s this weeks, entitled: Perfect Practice.

  • 7 Mistakes every beginner guitarist makes – A well written post that teaches beginners the mistakes that can be made when practising the guitar. To be honest, even though these tips are made for beginners, I found that they are things that can also be applied to more advanced guitarists.

Guitar Habits

  • Solid tips to prioritize your guitar playing (Waterproof) – As always Klaus Tol really goes into depth with this post. His blog looks at the mind as well as the guitar and this post is no different. In this article he shows us all great tips on how, with our busy schedules, we can prioritize our guitar playing. A must read for both beginners and accomplished guitarists.
  • 12 Cool 3 notes-per-string exercise to Rock on! Part II! – Following on from his hugely successful part I, Klaus shows the readers more techniques they can use to improve their solo’s and improvisations. He has strayed away from his usual motivation posts but I think this actual works very well.

Well that’s it for this weeks guitar round-up, I hope you enjoyed all of the posts and maybe their are some new sites in this post that you can start to read. If you have a post on your own guitar blog that you would like me to take a look at then please feel free to e-mail me at lickthatriff@googlemail.com

  2. Can I simply say nice to read a relief to search out someone who essentially knows just what they are discussing on the internet. You actually recognize how to bring a major issue to light and make it very important. More people should study it all and understand this aspect of the story. I cant believe you’re not more popular as you essentially have the gift.
