Hello all, and welcome to another edition in the weekly riff feature and this one’s a real classic. From a band inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2006, this riff is one that every guitarist should know and want to play. Sweet Home Alabama has to be one of the most recognisable riffs in Guitar history, even though Rolling Stone Magazine didn’t decide to put it on their top 100 list.

Lynyrd Skynrd formed in 1964 but didnt really enjoy mainstream success until 1973. Sweet Home Alabama was taken from their second album, Second Helping, and released in 1974 with much controversy surrounding it. Since then it has been acclaimed as one as the greatest guitar songs of all time. So here’s how to play it:
